Xerania’s Fall is a single-map prequel to EZkeel’s Invasion and Legacy map packs. It wears heavily the signature signs of the author which can be liked or disliked, but many would agree that it is a fun map to play and there is also a sense of nostalgia attached to it for those who were around on the Unreal SP scene back in 1999.
Your mission is to go back to the past where you infiltrate a Skaarj base where Xerania, an experimental Skaarj monstrosity used against the Earth in the human-Skaarj war, is held in a secret location. You are to destroy Xerania before the genetic experiment is completed and it gains its full power.
The map has three historical versions. The original version was released on 16 November 1998, about half a year after Unreal came out. The second (1. September 1999) and third (18 November 2001) editions contain a couple of bugfixes and gameplay improvements which are detailed in the readme file. The latter requires Unreal version 220 or higher.
